Nathan Loomis is a respected litigator and trusted advocate with a focus on state and federal litigation, constitutional law, and business litigation. He is a member of Garrett Richardson’s litigation and appellate teams, and has worked on appeals at the Idaho Supreme Court and the Washington Court of Appeals. Mr. Loomis spent most of his life in Colorado and graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science in 2017. Afterwards, he worked in Santa Ana, California, for approximately one year as a legal assistant for Robinson Legal Center where he was involved in personal injury cases and discovered his passion for the law.

Mr. Loomis subsequently moved to Boise, Idaho, where he attended law school at Concordia University School of Law. He later transferred to University of Idaho College of Law in 2020. In law school, he excelled in legal writing and received the CALI Award, given to the student with the highest grade in the class, in Advanced Legal Writing. During his last year of law school, he interned for the Canyon County Public Defender’s Office where he regularly represented indigent clients in criminal proceedings. Shortly after law school, he worked at Baldauf Masser, LLP, for about a year where he was engaged in criminal defense and family law.

At the end of 2022, Mr. Loomis joined the United States District Court for the District of Idaho as a judicial law clerk under Chief Judge David C. Nye. During his clerkship, Mr. Loomis gained invaluable experience of the federal judicial process, continued to hone his legal research, writing and critical thinking skills and worked on a variety of cases including numerous complex business litigation cases. He regularly interacted with parties during civil disputes, umpiring and participating in informal discovery hearings. Furthermore, Mr. Loomis drafted initial opinions and detailed analysis for the Honorable Judge Nye.

Mr. Loomis joined Garrett Richardson, PLLC, in the beginning of 2024. He has experience in business litigation, administrative proceedings, appellate work and constitutional law. He is licensed to practice law in Idaho and New Mexico.

Mr. Loomis enjoys spending his free time running, snowboarding, spending time with friends and family, weightlifting, participating in muay thai, gaming, cooking, playing ping pong, and napping. He also happens to be a diehard In-N-Out Burger fan.
